Teddy Swims Live in Nova’s Red Room

NOVA Entertainment has announced chart topping, platinum artist Teddy Swims as the next artist to perform live in Nova’s Red Room. The intimate show will take place at Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on Sunday July 14.

The one-off live set will be the third Nova’s Red Room event in Melbourne for the year, with the American singer-songwriter set to capture the hearts of an intimate crowd of just 500 invitees with an exclusive acoustic set list, before heading to Margaret Court Arena for his sold out ‘I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Tour’.

Addressing the announcement and the upcoming performance, Teddy Swims said “I’m so excited to return to Australia in July! We are preparing something really special for this intimate show in Melbourne! Can’t wait to see you, I love you!”

Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillps, co-hosts of the Nova 100 breakfast show Jase & Lauren will host the exclusive event alongside newsreader and cohost Clint Stanaway.

Swims (born Jaten Dimsdale) found himself on the path towards self-discovery when he started putting pen to paper for his debut studio album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), via Warner Records. Though he’s released music and toured the world since making his debut in 2019, the 31-year-old artist has spent much of the last four years writing his way towards his debut album that would tell this story – his story – to the people who were ready to receive it.

Brendan Taylor, Group Programming Director for the Nova Network, said “Teddy Swims absolutely amazed us with his powerhouse vocals in 2023 for a Nova’s Red Room studio session, so to bring this to a live audience will be truly incredible.

“For Teddy to go from a 500 person invite-only set to a sold-out Margaret Court Arena show, shows the intimacy and exclusivity of these events.”

Swims' breakout Platinum hit ‘Lose Control’ became his first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with one of the longest climbs to the top in Hot 100 history. The track has garnered nearly 1 billion global streams, reached #4 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, and #1 on the US and Global Shazam charts. Additionally, ‘Lose Control’ has taken flight across the globe, reaching 2 x Platinum status in four countries thus far. With over 2.6 billion career streams to date, a sold-out global headline tour underway, new music in the works, and this appearance on the Nova’s Red Room stage, Swims is already on track for a record 2024.

Australia's premier intimate live music brand Nova’s Red Room has seen over 300 international and local artists perform live for fans, including Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, Tones And I, G Flip and Billie Eilish.
