Gary Barlow Takes Saturday Evenings on Smooth FM

Take That’s Gary Barlow will take to Australian radio with his very own Saturday evening show on the Smooth FM Network from this Sunday, 10 February at 4pm.

Gary has created the perfect feel-good playlist for Smooth listeners to start their Saturday nights, including hits like Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’¸ Sophie Ellis Bextor’s ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, and Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie’ as well as songs from Madonna, Eurythmics and Elton John.

Over the hour, Gary will share stories about his favourite songs and artists, plus a few personal anecdotes that will give listeners a glimpse into the life of the record-breaking UK superstar.

Gary Barlow said, “What a fantastic opportunity to share some of my favourite music and memories with Australia. I am very much looking forward to spending Saturday evenings with the Smooth FM audience as we sing, dance and share a story or two.”

Formed as a five-piece in 1989, Take That enjoyed immediate success with their first two albums charting at No.2 and No.1 respectively. Their third album Nobody Else confirmed their global domination, selling over six million copies and topping the charts in 11 countries.

Gary’s subsequent successful solo career, including chart topping album 'Music Played By Humans', was the beginning of many other pursuits for the star, including becoming a musical theatre maestro and a television personality.

Gary Barlow and Take That are bringing This Life on Tour to Australia this October and November, supported by fellow British singer Sophie Ellis Bextor. Tickets are on sale via Frontier Touring from midday on February 13.

Gary is the latest in a long list of high-profile artists and personalities to join the Smooth FM lineup over the years including Sir Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, Olivia Newton-John, Neil Diamond, Elton John, Ronan Keating, and Dolly Parton.
